NARRATIVE
These latex hides were designed as imaginary animal skins inspired by the skins and surfaces of insects and bacteria as witnessed in macro photography. Here the strangely familiar yet alien creations are seen staged as futuristic animal skins, displayed in a modern hide stretcher.
MATERIALS
Latex fabric, liquid latex, millinery fabric, spray paint. Set; metal frame, copper tube, hardware, voile, wire rope and clamps, timber, plywood, gold pigment.
PROCESSES
Making experimental textile pieces. Set build; suspended voile curtain, making a shallow trof.
